As part of the Wiesbaden Art Summer 2023 under the motto FLUXUS S(I)EX TIES, the walk-in sculpture The House of Dust by Fluxus pioneer Alison Knowles will be open to visitors. The sculpture was programmed by the artist in 2021 and realized in the context of the interdisciplinary sculpture project tinyBE - living in a sculpture on Wiesbaden's Kranzplatz in 3D printing from clay.
The sculpture refers to one of the first computer-generated poems that Alison Knowles composed in 1967. A computer program randomly combined various verses on the subject of “building a house and living”. A film inside the sculpture makes the poem tangible: the artist revives it on an old-fashioned dot matrix printer - the simultaneity of reading the poem, printing the poem and building the dwelling in 3D printing are the contemporary Fluxus experience.
On June 3, the sculpture will be open to visitors from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
There are also public guided tours with the curator Cornelia Saalfrank:
